Charlie and Jacqui’s wedding- Chiddingstone Castle

Well here we are, my first wedding post of 2017. I photographed some pretty amazing weddings last year, all very different in some ways, but the same in others, like the happiness and fun that I witnessed at every single wedding I attended, including Charlie and Jacqui’s.

I first met Charlie nearly 23 years ago, so I was over the moon when he asked me to photograph the wedding, at one of my favourite venues, I got married there so yes I am a little biased.

It was a misty December day, which just added to the atmosphere and compliments Chiddingstone Castle so well. After meeting Jacqui and the bridesmaids for prep, we headed to the castle to finish off getting ready before going over to the church. December is always a nice time of year, with the spirit of Christmas on show everywhere, its one of my favourite times to photograph a wedding.

A memory from Charlie and Jacqui’s wedding and one that will stay with me for a long time will be in the church, standing at the front, photographing Charlie just before Jacqui made the walk down the aisle. I remember thinking how damn lucky I am that I get to do this, capturing these moments for a couple and their family to look back on, especially when its someone that you have known for a long time.

After the ceremony we headed outside the church, Charlie and Jacqui being greeted by family and friends, with lots of hugs, kisses, smiles and laughter, my camera was stuck to my eye for about 20 minutes, with so much going on.

The grounds at Chiddingstone are simply stunning, and we made the most of them doing some portraits throughout the grounds. After we went inside for the wedding meal and some very heartfelt speeches, followed by one of the craziest parties I have seen.

Thank you for having us there Charlie and Jacqui, it was a fantastic day. It’s funny how things can work out, and my goodness I am so grateful for our first meeting Charlie. I hope you both have the most amazing life together.
