Emma and Ed’s Wedding- Kew Garden’s, London
Why I love my job, I get to work with some of the loveliest people, and I get to shoot in some of the most spectacular places. Emma and Ed’s wedding tick’s both of those boxes, and some. In the run up to their wedding day, we met a few times at Kew, wondering the beautiful grounds, talking about the big day, and getting to know each other a little better. I will happily admit that I am quite sad that it’s now over, and the images are all edited and delivered, I could happily shoot their wedding all over again.
I met with Emma at the Coach and Horses, a lovely little pub just across the green from Kew Gardens, it was bathed in that gorgeous early morning sunlight. I spent a few hours photographing the prep, while my colleague met with Ed and his friends at their flat, for some and a fun English breakfast 🙂
It was pretty cool capturing Emma crossing the green to Kew Gardens, walking with her Mum, Dad and her bridesmaids, off to meet her new husband. I have now photographed a fair few brides walking down the aisle, but I have never seen this before, a big sloppy kiss for Ed by Emma dad’s, it was the most amazing thing to see, and I knew after that the rest of the day would be so much fun.
After the ceremony we went off to photograph Emma and Ed walking the grounds of Kew, you can really get lost in the magic of this place, there are so many photo opportunities, the Red Wood forest was so enchanting. The day continued with some of the funniest speeches I have witnessed and also a bus ride around Kew for all of the guests.
I also forgot to mention that music plays a very big part in Emma and Ed’s lives, so when some of their friends who also happen to play in a band along side Ed kicked off the party, well I could’ve easily stayed all night to listen to them, watching Ed tear up the guitar to Jimi Hendrix.
To say I’m pleased that you chose me to photograph your wedding day is an understatement of huge proportions, I still can’t quite believe I was given the opportunity to be part of the day, so thank you ever so much, and for the fun and happy memories I now have from your wedding day.
