Clare and Simon’s wedding- Chiddingstone Castle

Clare and Simon’s wedding has been an absolute joy to have been part of, from the first moment I met them in their local pub, to waving good bye to them after photographing their wedding day.

I was pretty damn excited, and also quite nervous when they told me the venue for their wedding reception, Chiddingstone Castle. To say I love this place is quite an understatement, as it was the venue I got married in, and have so many happy memories from my own wedding day there.

I met with Clare early morning at the family home for bridal prep, there was such a lovely vibe throughout the household as everyone got ready. My colleague met with Simon and his groomsman in the pub opposite the church they were to be wed in.

Watching a bride walk down the aisle and seeing the nerves and anticipation on the grooms face is a moment of the wedding day that I will never, ever tire of seeing, and the first look between them too, just breathtaking.

After the ceremony we walked backed through the woodland to Chiddingstone Castle, with the spring colours really complementing the place. I had a feeling the speeches would be very emotional and they certainly were, it was lovely to hear Clare’s mum give a speech.

The evening continued with some fantastic dancing and lots of fun on the dance floor.

Clare and Simon’s wedding is definitely one that will stay very close to my heart, and it’s the coolest thing to now call them my friends.

Thank you again for having me along, photographing somebodies wedding day is something that I will never take for granted.
